Trellis Capital Partners’ leadership and its advisors have over 75 years of real estate investment and private equity experience across a variety of asset classes.

  • Scott is the Managing Principal of Trellis Capital Partners.

    Prior to Trellis, Scott was an Executive Director at Commonwealth Asset Management (“CWAM”) where he was responsible for sourcing, originating, negotiating and executing heavily structured platform level transactions in the real estate space as well as for other esoteric asset classes. Before joining the CWAM Platform, Scott was a Principal and Founder of MidBeach Capital Partners (“MBCP”), a privately held real estate investment platform that focused on structured credit and subordinate debt investments in transitional real estate.

    Preceding MBCP, Scott was a Vice President at Tall Pines Capital LLC (“Tall Pines”), where he helped establish the firm’s investment platform and was responsible for sourcing, structuring, underwriting, execution and asset management of debt, equity and fund level investments valued at over $800 million. Before joining Tall Pines, Scott was a Vice President at Fisher Brothers, a 105+ year old, New York City based, owner, operator and developer of commercial real estate, where he was actively involved in all areas of the firm’s acquisition, development, and financing activities including the conceptualization and implementation of the firm’s mezzanine lending platform.

    Scott also held positions in Savills’ capital markets group and PricewaterhouseCoopers Real Estate Business Advisory Services practice. To date, Scott has been involved in the execution of over $4.0 billion of real estate investments/transactions in major metropolitan areas throughout the United States. Scott received an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Real Estate from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of Michigan.

  • Chris is a Principal at Trellis Capital Partners. Chris is also a Principal at Neptune Capital Partners. Prior to joining Neptune and Trellis, Chris spent 11 years working in institutional real estate. Chris started his career at Brookfield Property Partners as an analyst in the strategic initiatives group, evaluating and executing complex structured investments on Brookfield’s 60MM foot office portfolio as well as new investments for its various funds. After Brookfield, Chris was a Vice President at Fisher Brothers where he was responsible for sourcing, originating, structuring and asset managing investments for Fisher Brothers $200MM subordinate debt vehicle (Lionheart Strategic Management) across the top 20 MSA’s in the U.S.

    Investments included mezzanine loans, b-notes and preferred equity. Additionally, Chris provided asset management and capital markets analysis for Fisher Brothers 7MM square foot office portfolio in NYC and Washington DC. After leaving Fisher Brothers, Chris spearheaded new business opportunities for Paramount Group (NYSE: PGRE) to acquire existing, Class A assets in San Francisco and New York on its balance sheet while also originating mezzanine loans on transitional assets for its $800MM separate account fund. Throughout his career, Chris has been directly involved in excess of $3BN of acquisitions and loan originations.

    Chris received his bachelors of business administration (with honors) from the Sellinger School of Business at Loyola University Maryland.

  • Rob is a Principal at Trellis Capital Partners. Rob is also the Founder and Managing Principal of Neptune Capital Partners (“Neptune”), Vice President of Bergen Cove Realty (“Bergen”), and Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Navy Squared Partners (“Navy Squared”).

    At Neptune, Bergen, and Navy Squared, Rob is responsible for sourcing, originating, structuring, and asset managing investments for the companies’ portfolios. Rob has worked on a variety of real estate acquisitions in various markets throughout the United States, including investments in commercial (1.4MM square feet), industrial (8.7MM square feet), mixed-use (1.4M square feet), multifamily (18.6MM square feet, 18,000 units), and self-storage (333K square feet, 4,300 units). Rob is also actively engaged in the companies’ loan portfolio, where he has been directly involved in investments in mezzanine loans, preferred equity, and B-notes. Additionally, Rob has originated and sourced direct and fund investments in private equity and venture capital across various sectors including Fintech, Food Processing, Healthcare, Artificial Intelligence, and Proptech. Select direct private equity and fund investments include K Health, Funnel, My Ollie, Onfido, Petal, Properly, and Washville.

    Rob was previously a Portfolio Manager at Frere Hall Capital Management in London. Rob joined Frere Hall as an analyst and was the company’s first front-office hire. He was responsible for all fundamental analysis, assisted in portfolio structuring, and helped with fundraising efforts, helping assets grow to over $700M. Before joining Frere Hall, Rob was an analyst at Hess Energy Trading Company (now Hartree Partners) in New York.

    Rob received a masters in business administration (with honors) from Columbia University, and bachelor’s degrees (with honors) in Philosophy and History from the University of Virginia.

  • Nathaniel is a Principal at Trellis Capital Partners. He is also a Principal of Navy Squared Partners, a real estate investment company making co-GP equity investments in multi-family properties, and a Principal of Miscellany Ventures, through which he invests on behalf of himself and his family.

    In addition to Trellis, Navy Squared and Miscellany, Nathaniel holds several board positions; he is a director of QLess, a B2B Saas company focused on appointment scheduling and queue management platform as well as Fox Windows and Blinds, a Central Florida-based window installation business.

    Nathaniel previously held positions at ViacomCBS in Product Management and Data Strategy for the Advanced Advertising division as well as Li & Fung’s US subsidiary where he led sustainability efforts.

    Nathaniel received his Bachelor’s degree from Brown University, his Master’s degree in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics, and his MBA from Columbia Business School.

Steven Wu

Analyst

Prior to joining Trellis, Steven worked as an Analyst at Marcus & Millichap where he was responsible for conducting investment analysis, preparing comprehensive financial models, evaluating leveraged returns, projecting pro forma cash flow, and staying abreast of market trends.  Steven has experience underwriting various real estate asset classes including multifamily, retail, industrial, office, and hotel properties. Steven also held an intern position in the Wealth Management division at Morgan Stanley where he sourced new prospects and successfully onboarding substantial assets under management.

 

Steven received his Master's degree in Real Estate Finance from New York University and a Bachelor of Science degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Economics from Texas A&M University.
